All-Party Parliamentary Group of MPs for Dark Skies (APPG)

The Partners have been working closely to support the All-Party Parliamentary Group of MPs for Dark Skies with CPRE (the Countryside Charity), the International Dark-Sky Association, the Institution of Lighting Professionals, U.K. National Parks and AONBs and other interested organisations.

This APPG was formed in 2019 under the joint chairmanship of Andrew Griffith MP and Lord Rees the Astronomer Royal.

Their first policy paper, urging the Government to adopt ten policies which will go a long way to solving the problems caused by light pollution, was launched on 9th December 2020. It can be viewed and downloaded at: APPG Policy Plan

After more than three decades of campaigning against light pollution, which not only steals our stars but has significant negative impacts on biodiversity, health and climate change, collaboration with the APPG is our best chance for a long time to achieve real legislation.

More information can be found on the APPG website.
